I took my baby on a stroller hike, I went boxing for an hour, and I watched my older daughter rock out with her band in Venice. What could be left for a perfect Sunday in Los Angeles? Why... it's "Breitbart News Sunday," of course!
Today's show will start right here in L.A. I want to talk about why Mayor Eric Garcetti is using his parents to hire a lobbyist firm to push for his confirmation as ambassador to India. What's up with that? Maybe it explains why L.A. is in such a terrible state: the guy can't run anything and needs his parents to do things for him. Or maybe this is an example of that "white privilege" he kept telling us about all the time, since his parents can afford to hire lobbyists.
OK, back to national news. There's still a baby formula shortage on, and my wife has run out of our favorite brand, which we can't find at the story. Our baby refuses to drink the other kinds. So... she found a powdered brand from Germany that the baby likes. We have to order it from overseas, and there are apparently airlifts of baby formula coming in... while Biden administration officials lie and blame the manufacturers. Hey, who's in charge of the country?
We'll talk a bit about Bill Maher. I don't like to do it so much, because a) he falsely accused Andrew Breitbart of being a racist; b) he never invites me on his show, though his producer promised to do so several years ago; c) he's done as much as anyone to build up wokeness to the point where now it's a threat to him. But he's become an advocate of free speech and a voice of reason on many issues, not least of which is the issue of forcing transgenderism on children.
We'll also talk about the Pennsylvania primary, and the upcoming Georgia primary, among other electoral contests. Trump's endorsees are ... well, some of them are winning, but some are losing (Perdue), or underperforming (Oz). What's Donald Trump's role in the party, going forward? Former SecDef Robert Gates says he's a threat to national security. Really? Or are there other reasons that SANE people might have to want an alternative candidate in 2024?
And could ... California be in play? Anything's possible. The people of L.A. are leaning toward a real estate developer from outside the political world... not Trump, but Rick Caruso. And with the state knocking down dams -- in the middle of a drought, and a coming electricity crisis -- maybe independent thinker Michael Shellenberger could be just the long-shot governor that California needs? Can he win against Gavin Newsom and the Dem machine?
All that, and more, on today's show!
Special guests:
Joseph Vazquez -- free speech expert at the Media Research Center
Timothy Head -- of Faith and Freedom Coalition, on the Georgia primary
Michael Shellenberger -- leading outside candidate for California governor
Alek Skarlatos -- Republican nominee for Congress in OR, and decorated hero

This is the portion that all journalists should love: the Torah tells the story of the 12 spies, only two of whom tell the truth when the other ten shade it in a negative away (perhaps to suit a political agenda that is opposed to Moses).
It's not that the ten "lying" spies misconstrue the facts about the Land of Israel; rather, they interject their opinions that the land is impossible to conquer, which strikes unnecessary terror into the hearts of the people.
We have many examples of such fake news today -- from the Iranian propaganda outlets spreading false claims that they are winning the war, to California politicians spreading false horror stories about ICE raids in L.A.
The people realize, too late, that they have been fooled, and once they are condemned to die in the desert, they try to rush into Israel -- only to be defeated by the inhabitants, as the spies predicted that they would be.
But as consolation, God gives the people new commandments -- focused on things they must ...
This week's portion discusses the procedure for lighting the menorah, the holy seven-branched lamp, in the Tabernacle (and later the Temple). It also describes an episode where the people crave meat, and God punishes them by giving it to them in excess. We also read the story of Miriam, Moses's sister, who is punished with the spiritual skin blemish of tzara'at for speaking about her brother, thus violating the prohibition against lashon hara (evil tongue).
I heard a fantastic sermon this week about the lighting of the menorah: that while only the priests were qualified to clean and purify the menorah, anyone could light it. A reminder that each of us can inspire others along the way.
This week we study the vow of the Nazirite; a reminder that sometimes trying to be too holy is excessive, and the best we can do is to be the best that we are.
