Are you nervous about the election?
The reality is that everything is as you should expect for a Republican win.
I'm not guaranteeing a win -- I'm just saying that Republicans are in a situation where a win is possible.
Here's why:
- Trump can win any and all of the swing states
- Kamala cannot add to any states Biden won in 2020
- Trump is doing "presidential" things; Kamala is not
- Trump is talking about mainstream issues
- Kamala is taking extreme positions, or hiding positions
- Kamala chose a liberal running mate who does not add voters
- Kamala's message is backward-looking ("we're not going back" )
- Kamala is avoiding solo interviews, etc.
Democrats are running a losing strategy. It could still win, because it has so much power from the media, the tech world, and the voting system itself.
Americans may also balk at the return of Trump and all of that drama.
But if you told me a year ago Trump would be in this position, I'd be happy.
Democrats kept it competitive by getting rid of Biden. But honestly, I'd still be more surprised if they won than if they lost.
This week's show will be slightly different from the norm: we'll focus on clips and topics, rather than guests -- and that, hopefully, will mean more input from the callers (unless you are all watching football on opening weekend).

This week's Torah portion includes several laws about conduct in civic and personal life, the common theme of which is boundaries -- setting bounds to what one may do at home, at work, and even in the battlefield.
One noteworthy passage concerns Amalek, the evil nation that attacked the Children of Israel as they made their Exodus from slavery to freedom. Deuteronomy 25:17-19 commands Jews to obliterate Amalek's memory.
The South African government accused Israel of genocide on the basis of a story about Amalek in the Book of Samuel, in which King Saul was commanded to wipe out the entire evil Amalekite nation.
Because Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu quoted this week's portion -- "Remember what Amalek did to you" (25:17), the South African government claimed he was commanding soldiers to commit genocide.
